Job summary

BakerHicks is seeking an experienced Contract Structural Engineer in Motherwell for a hybrid role. You will deliver structural design packages for complex building projects, taking ownership with minimal supervision.

You should have UK project experience in building structures, strong analysis and design skills, and proficiency with Tekla Structural Designer, MasterSeries or similar tools. The role supports security clearance processes and initial 6-month duration.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Structural bias).
• Proven UK project experience within building structures.
• Strong structural analysis and design capability.
• Experience on commercial, industrial, defence or complex infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Produce and review structural calculations, specs and reports.
• Deliver structural design solutions for steel, concrete and masonry.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project outcomes.
• Support delivery from concept through detailed design.
• Manage own workload and deliver outputs on time.
• Contribute technical expertise across multiple projects.
• Support design reviews and compliance with codes.
