Job summary

Goodman Masson is recruiting an Interim Project Accountant to join a growing finance function on a key remediation and stabilisation assignment. This hands-on role suits an accountant who can step into a fast-paced environment, identify issues, bring structure to processes and deliver a more robust, sustainable way of working.

You will work across a broad range of accounting activities with focus on financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations, cashbook and bank reconciliations,

Qualifications

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification, or be QBE with equivalent experience
• Strong technical accounting fundamentals and a solid understanding of double-entry
• Experience across reconciliations, financial accounting and month-end processes
• Experience working across multiple entities
• Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with large volumes of data
• Experience in remediation/transformation projects
• Ability to communicate findings to finance and non-finance stakeholders
• Audit-ready work with experience dealing with auditors

Responsibilities

• Review and reconcile financial statements across multiple entities
• Support statutory and year-end reporting processes and assist auditors
• Prepare and maintain detailed balance sheet reconciliations
• Investigate and resolve historic unreconciled balances and discrepancies
• Rebuild and maintain cashbook and bank reconciliation processes
• Identify and resolve issues across the wider ledger
• Perform intercompany reconciliations across a multi-entity environment
• Investigate intercompany mismatches and ensure balances are aligned
• Support development and implementation of improved finance processes and controls
• Assist with ad hoc accounting and finance projects
• Produce audit-ready documentation for handover to permanent team
• Collaborate with the wider finance team and provide guidance
