Job summary

VanRath are assisting a large Public Sector Organisation in Belfast to recruit a Contract & Performance Manager - Construction (Public Sector) for an initial 3-month assignment on-site, with potential extension. The role focuses on contract monitoring, performance metrics and governance across planned maintenance contracts.

You will lead a team of professionals, provide guidance on NEC 4 contracts, ensure KPI delivery, and support training on contract management.

Qualifications

  • Degree or Level 6 construction qualification or equivalent.
  • Chartered membership or a commitment to achieve it.
  • 5 years construction experience in the last 5 years, with KPI reporting.
  • Experience in developing and implementing construction contract processes.
  • Eligible to drive and available to meet post requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Support management and coordination of contract monitoring.
  • Develop and implement monitoring for planned maintenance contracts.
  • Incorporate lessons learned and ensure training guidance on practices.
  • Contribute to high-quality planned repairs service delivery and asset condition.
  • Lead a team to ensure efficient support for regional and central teams.

Contract & Performance Manager - Construction (Public Sector) (BBBH14684CH) Belfast, Northern Ireland

Salary: GBP45091 - GBP51356 per annum

VANRATH are assisting our client, a large Public Sector Organisation, in their search for a Contract & Performance Manager - Construction (Public Sector) for 3 months initially with the possibility of extension. You will predominantly be based in their Belfast site.

Responsibilities

  • To support the management and co-ordination of contract monitoring.
  • To assist in the development and implementation of a comprehensive approach to monitoring and supporting the delivery of Planned maintenance in accordance with contracts and policies and procedures.
  • To develop these themes further, incorporating lessons learned, to ensure that legislation and good practice are continuously integrated into practice through training and advice.
  • To contribute to the delivery, by the company, of a first class planned repairs service for its Customers, protecting and enhancing the condition of its assets, taking into account value for money.
  • To manage a team of professional and technical staff to ensure the delivery of an efficient support service to the Regional teams and Central Management, ensuring resources are effectively managed and target dates are achieved.
  • To provide assurance/governance for the Directorate in the delivery of all its construction related contracts. Contract and Performance Management and Reporting (Planned, Contracts)
  • To provide contract advice and guidance to staff using the planned maintenance contract, inclusive of advising on escalation processes and or dispute resolution, where appropriate.
  • To contribute to the development of appropriate training plans and issuing advice notes for contract management.
  • Possess a degree or equivalent Level 6 qualification in a construction related field

OR

  • Can demonstrate equivalent continuing professional development or experiential learning and least 5 years working in a construction role.
  • Should either be chartered in one of the recognised Building Professions or must be committed to either attaining a relevant qualification or Chartered membership of a professional body agreed by the Director of Asset
  • 5 years relevant experience working in the construction industry in the last 5
    years, 3 years of which must include managing, overseeing and or reporting contractual key performance indicators within construction contracts.
  • Can demonstrate experience in a minimum of two of the following four areas;
    (i) Developing and or implementing processes and procedures in delivering effective construction contract management
    (ii) The provision of advice and guidance on construction contract related matters.
    (iii) Preparing and delivering training and/or presenting construction contract related information to a wide range of audiences
    (iv) The procurement of construction contracts inclusive of the involvement in compiling lessons learned from previous contracts and coordination of procurement needs
  • Proficient in use of NEC 4 Contracts
  • Possess a current driving licence or have access to a form of transport that will permit the candidate to meet requirements of the post in full.

Remuneration

c£45,091 per annum, plus discount benefits.
