Job summary

Siemens Energy in Lincoln is seeking a Contract Support Performance Engineer to help define how Small Gas Turbines are configured for customer contracts. You will specify core engine control settings and operational philosophies supporting from bid to acceptance testing.

Qualifications

• A Masters-level qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Mathematics, Software Engineering or related discipline.
• Strong background in mathematics, physics, numerical analysis and statistical investigation.
• Understanding of gas turbine simple cycle operation and basic thermodynamics calculations.
• Experience with engineering software, data analysis tools or programming (VBA, MATLAB, C#, FORTRAN or Visual Basic).
• Experience or interest in prediction modelling, database management, process automation, performance testing or controls specification.
• Strong communication, report writing and presentation skills, with the ability to work independently or as part of a project team.

Responsibilities

• Specify core engine controls settings and operational philosophies for contracts from bid to delivery and acceptance testing.
• Develop and maintain contract controls specifications, settings documents, limits and databases.
• Support assessment of engine performance, validation of test results and prediction of site-installed performance.
• Collaborate with Sales, Bids and Proposals, Core Engineering, Test and R&D teams across the product lifecycle.
• Contribute to development and automation of performance assessment, prediction methods and data analysis tools.
• Manage complex engineering documentation and approvals while communicating technical information clearly.
