Job summary

Ocho People in Belfast is seeking a Contract Backend Engineer with strong .NET experience to help deliver scalable services across a fast-moving product environment. You will join an established Agile team working on highly transactional systems with a focus on reliability, performance and clean engineering practices.

The role is largely remote with occasional in-person collaboration in Belfast. It is an initial 8-month contract with a competitive daily rate, offering exposure to enterprise

Overview
Ocho is supporting a Belfast-based technology team as they expand a critical engineering function focused on modernising and enhancing a suite of enterprise platforms.

They are looking for a Contract Backend Engineer with strong .NET experience to help deliver scalable services and backend components across a fast-moving product environment. You'll join an established Agile team working on highly transactional systems with a strong focus on reliability, performance and clean engineering practices.

This is a largely remote contract with occasional in-person collaboration required.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and enhance backend services using C# and .NET
• Develop APIs and integrations across distributed systems
• Work closely with engineers, QA and product teams to deliver new functionality

Person We Are Looking For

• Strong commercial experience with C# and .NET development
• Experience building RESTful APIs and backend services
• Understanding of scalable system design and modern software architecture
• Exposure to cloud-hosted environments and CI/CD pipelines
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable contributing within Agile engineering teams
