Job summary

Orion Electrotech is seeking a Contract Mechanical Design Engineer for a 3-month project in the UK. You will handle a full product life cycle, from concept to documentation, using SolidWorks or Inventor for detailed 3D CAD designs and development. Immediate start preferred, experience on instrumentation or bespoke machinery is ideal.

The role requires strong CAD skills and a hands-on approach to design and documentation to support the development lifecycle.

Opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer with Inventor or SolidWorks experience to undertake a technically varied role in support of a key project.

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with a solid background in Inventor or SolidWorks to work on a New Product Development project, undertaking detailed conceptual design and supporting the complete project life cycle.

As Contract Mechanical Design Engineer, you will have the ability to :

• Undertake Mechanical Design of New Product Development (complete product life cycle)
• Undertake detailed designs using 3D CAD (SolidWorks or Inventor)
• Concept Generation
• Produce Documentation to support Development

• Knowledge of manufacturing methods

The successful Mechanical Design Engineer will have;

• Proven mechanical design experience within a fast-paced development environment (Ideally 4-5 years min)

• Experience working on instrumentation or complex bespoke equipment/machinery

• 3D CAD - SolidWorks or Inventor

• Full Product Life-cycle Design Experience.
