Job summary

Orion Electrotech Ltd in Southampton is seeking a Contract Master Production Scheduler to balance customer demand with manufacturing capacity and material availability. You will create detailed short-term plans and drive on-time delivery in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires strong data analysis, ERP/MRP proficiency, and the ability to re-prioritise tasks across Production, Materials and Quality teams. You will report on risks, track adherence and support continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience in a production scheduler or planner role in manufacturing.
• Ability to analyse data and manage changing priorities.
• Proficient in ERP/MRP and scheduling software.

Responsibilities

• Create and manage detailed short-term production schedules.
• Align production plans with customer priorities and the Master Production Schedule (MPS).
• Release work orders when materials, documentation and resources are available.
• Re-prioritise and re-sequence production activities to minimise disruption.
• Monitor work-in-progress and identify potential bottlenecks.
• Manage overdue orders and implement recovery plans.
• Coordinate with Production, Materials and Quality teams to resolve shortages and production constraints.
• Support daily and weekly planning meetings, providing clear updates on risks and recovery actions.
• Track schedule adherence and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate planning and ERP data to support effective scheduling and reporting.
• Ensure manufacturing lead times, routings and planning parameters remain accurate.
• Investigate and resolve planning and transactional issues impacting production performance.
