BAM FM are looking for a Contract Manager - Soft Services to be an integral part of our team working and managing a contract portfolio within the Southern region.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will form part of the Senior Leadership Team and work closely with clients, subcontractors, and colleagues. You should have experience in cleaning project management and delivery. Your responsibilities include service delivery, staff management, environmental, health and safety procedures, business performance, meeting targets, including budget achievement, and seeking new business opportunities within your area of responsibility.

This is a full-time role, working 37.5 hours Monday to Friday. The role involves a mixture of hybrid working from home and various site locations in the region.

Your mission
  1. Operational management
  2. Develop and maintain excellent customer relationships
  3. Deliver a first-class cleaning service, maximizing efficiencies, performance, and turnover
  4. Develop and monitor service delivery plans with contract teams and client units
  5. Oversee training and development of teams to meet BICSc standards and accreditation, ensuring health, safety, and quality standards
  6. Establish, monitor, and adjust resource levels to meet contract requirements
  7. Facilitate robust risk management processes and procedures
  8. Produce performance reports against contractual and strategic indicators
  9. Monitor quality audits of work completed
  10. Implement policies on health & safety, quality assurance, and environment
  11. Ensure defined H&S responsibilities and regular reviews
  12. Review supply chain partners to meet service needs
  13. Explore alternative procurement methods for service improvement
  14. Assist with risk assessments, method statements, and COSHH documentation
Business development
  • Support continuous improvement and identify issues for contract development
  • Identify and develop organic growth opportunities, working closely with the BD team
People management
  • Manage recruitment and resource allocation to meet contract needs
  • Encourage, coach, mentor, and manage team performance
  • Ensure personal achievement and development plans are completed and reviewed annually
Financial and commercial management
  • Manage budgets to ensure contract activity is completed on time and within budget
  • Maximize business opportunities
  • Achieve efficiencies, generate savings, and deliver value solutions
  • Develop benchmarking indicators
  • Identify risks and work with the commercial team to mitigate them
Who are we looking for?
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Contracts Manager or senior FM management role
  • Member of the British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM)
  • Member and accredited trainer in BICSc
  • Experience in Health & Safety management (IOSH or NEBOSH desirable)
  • Competent with IT packages (knowledge of Concept desirable)
  • Excellent organizational, presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong people management skills
