Qualifications

BAM FM are looking for a Contract Manager - Soft Services to be an integral part of our team working and managing a contract portfolio within the Southern region.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will form part of the Senior Leadership Team and work closely with clients, subcontractors and colleagues, exercising excellent team working skills and building positive relationships, and have experience of Cleaning project management and delivery. You will be responsible for service delivery, staff management and the management of environmental, health and safety procedures. You will also be responsible for business performance, meeting targets including achievement of budget and seeking new business opportunities within your area of responsibility.

This is a full time role, working 37.5 hours Monday to Friday. The role involves a mixture of hybrid working from home and various site locations in the region.

Your mission

Operational management
• Develop and maintain excellent customer relationships
• Deliver a first class cleaning service looking at ways to maximise efficiencies, performance and turnover
• Develop and monitor the service delivery plans in conjunction with contract teams, and client units
• Oversee the training and development of teams through BICSc standards and accreditation, and to ensure health, safety and quality standards are maintained
• Establish, monitor and supplement resource levels to comply with contract requirements.
• Facilitate the development of robust ‘risk management’ processes and procedures
• Produce performance reports against contractual and strategic performance indicators.
• Monitor quality audits of work completed
• Implement policies on health & safety (H&S), quality assurance (QA) and environment in conjunction with corporate support teams.
• Ensure defined H&S responsibilities and accountability are established and regular reviews are undertaken
• Review of supply chain partners to meet service needs.
• Explore alternative procurement methods to improve service delivery
• Assist with the maintenance of risk assessments, method statements and COSHH documentation
Business development
• Support the continuous improvement programme and identify issues to drive forward contract development.
• Identify and develop organic growth opportunities and working closely with the BD team.
People management
• Manage the recruitment and allocation of resources to ensure the requirements of the contracts are met.
• Encourage, coach, mentor and manage the effective performance of people and develop them to meet the contract requirements.
• Ensure personal achievement and development plans for all staff are completed and reviewed each year, ensuring training requirements are delivered.
Financial and commercial management
• Manage budgets to ensure contract activity is completed to time and cost.
• To maximise business opportunities
• Achieve efficiencies and generate savings and best value solutions
• Assist in the development of ‘benchmarking’ indicators
• Identify contract risks and work closely with the commercial team to proactively manage and mitigate risk

Who are we looking for?

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Contracts Manager or senior FM management role
• Member of the British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM)
• Member and accredited trainer in BICSc
• Experience of Health & Safety management (IOSH or NEBOSH desirable)
• Competent knowledge of IT packages (knowledge of Concept desirable)
• Excellent organisational, presentation, communication & interpersonal skills
• Excellent customers service skills
• Excellent people management skills
