Salary: Up to £72,000 plus company car/allowance and bonus

Location: Portsmouth

We’re working with a well-established construction company that’s looking for an experienced Contract Manager to join their Building Projects team. This role is ideal for someone ready to take ownership of a diverse portfolio of construction and refurbishment projects across various sectors.

You’ll play a key role in driving project delivery while upholding the highest standards in quality, health & safety, and client satisfaction.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Supporting the Operations Manager and Projects Director with the successful delivery of multiple contracts
• Coordinating the production of pre-construction information and ensuring robust planning is in place
• Overseeing on-site operations and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget
• Enforcing compliance with the company’s Construction Management System, including regular checks on site records and documentation
• Acting as Temporary Works Co-ordinator on relevant projects
• Leading and supporting Site Managers to ensure effective site delivery and performance
• Managing contracts through strong commercial awareness, programming, and contract administration
• Producing and maintaining project programmes including tender, construction, target, and weekly/monthly lookaheads
• Building and managing a supply chain aligned with company standards and governance
• Collaborating with Quantity Surveyors to ensure valuations and contractual processes are completed accurately and on time
• Providing regular progress updates and reports to clients and senior leadership
• Monitoring contract performance using KPIs and ensuring alignment with business objectives
• Helping to identify and engage future clients to support business development efforts

What We're Looking For:

• At least 5 years’ experience in a Contract or Project Management role within construction
• Strong leadership and communication skills with a collaborative, hands-on approach
• Proficiency in programming software (ideally Microsoft Project)
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and teams simultaneously

Essential Qualifications:

• Degree or HNC in Construction or a related discipline
• MCIOB (or working towards it)
• SMSTS
• Temporary Works Co-Ordinator
• First Aid at Work (3-day)
