Job summary

Mears Group PLC is seeking a Contract Manager to oversee all aspects of operational and commercial contract delivery from their Milton Keynes location. The role entails managing works programmes, budgets, and reporting while ensuring health and safety and quality standards across multiple sites.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in capital works and contract management, strong governance and leadership capabilities, and a full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Manage operational and commercial contract delivery.
• Monitor contract performance against targets.
• Manage works programmes, budgets, cash flow and updates.
• Ensure health and safety compliance and quality standards.
• Lead direct labour resources and supply chain partners.
• Provide accurate management reporting.
• Drive customer satisfaction and KPI achievement.
• Coach and develop team members.

Annual salary: up to £44,232.30

Contract Manager

Location: Milton Keynes

Contract: Permanent, 42.5 hours per week

Salary: £44,232.30 per annum + Car Allowance

About the Role:

As Contract Manager, you will oversee all aspects of operational and commercial contract delivery, ensuring performance is maintained in line with contractual obligations and company standards.

• Management of operational and commercial contract delivery
• Monitoring contract performance against agreed targets and commitments
• Managing works programmes, budgets, cash flow and project updates
• Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation, company procedures and quality standards
• Managing direct labour resources and supply chain partners
• Identifying opportunities to improve productivity and achieve efficiency savings
• Completing company and client reporting within required timescales
• Promoting a positive, customer-focused culture across all activities
• Driving customer satisfaction and achievement of contractual KPIs
• Managing employee performance, coaching and development
• Ensuring company assets are protected and maintained appropriately
• Providing accurate management reporting
• Building strong relationships with clients, service users and local communities
• Supporting continuous improvement through feedback and market insight

Key Criteria:

• Proven track record in capital works, programmed works, repairs and maintenance management and delivery
• Proven commercial and performance management experience
• Ability to manage multiple sites and contracts
• Experience working within a customer-focused environment
• Contract and project management experience
• Strong governance, risk management and business control experience
• Full UK driving licence

Desirable:

• ILM accreditation or Level 4 Leadership and Management qualification
• IOSH or other health and safety qualification
• Experience working within social housing
• Experience working in partnership with local authority clients
