Mitchell Maguire Recruitment Ltd is assisting a Lancashire-based contractor in recruiting a Contracts Manager – Construction to cover North West projects. The role focuses on overseeing a range of new build and refurbishment works, ensuring schedules, procurement, and contractual obligations are met.

The ideal candidate will have contracts management experience in construction, with strong communication, teamwork, and high levels of organisation.

Qualifications

• Must have contracts management experience within construction.
• Experience with Tier 1 main contractor preferred.
• Experience handling new-build and refurbishment contracts.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Strong teamwork and hardworking attitude.
• High levels of organisation and problem solving on site.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a broad range of new build and refurbishment projects.
• Plan and programme projects to meet schedules and contractual requirements.
• Manage procurement and material reconciliation to ensure best value and prevent delays.
• Brief and support site teams to understand contractual obligations.
• Carry out weekly reviews of progress, budgets and resources.
• Coordinate permanent and temporary staff to fit project needs.
• Manage subcontractor performance in line with terms and procedures.
• Oversee projects up to £20m in value (typical £8m).

Office Based: Lancashire (Covering projects across the North West)

The role of the Contracts Manager – Construction will involve:

• Contracts Manager position overseeing a broad range of new build construction and refurbishment projects
• Planning and programming projects to meet detailed schedules and contractual requirements
• Managing procurement and material reconciliation to ensure best value and prevent delays
• Briefing and supporting site/project teams to ensure full understanding of contractual obligations
• Carrying out weekly reviews of progress, budgets, resources, and forward planning
• Coordinating permanent and temporary staff in line with project and contractual needs
• Managing subcontractor performance, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and company procedures
• Oversee projects up to £20m in value (typically £8m)

The ideal applicant will be a Contracts Manager – Construction with:

• Must have Contracts Management experience within the construction sector
• Highly advantageous to come from a Tier 1 Main contractor
• An ideal candidate will possess experience dealing with a range of new-build and refurbishment contracts
• Excellent communication skills across all levels both written and verbal
• Must be a great team player
