Job summary

A well-established main contractor is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee a portfolio of refurbishment projects ranging from £1m to £5m. This role offers significant autonomy and the opportunity to work on projects in education, healthcare, and commercial sectors. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in refurbishment and proven leadership and communication skills. A competitive salary of up to £90,000 plus car allowance is on offer.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Contracts Manager or Senior Project Manager with a main contractor.
• Strong background in refurbishment / fit-out projects.
• Experience working in education, healthcare, commercial or industrial sectors.
• Excellent commercial awareness and programme control.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Managing 2–5 live refurbishment projects concurrently.
• Full responsibility from pre-construction handover through to completion.
• Overseeing site teams, subcontractors, and supply chain performance.
• Ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to high quality standards.
• Maintaining strong client relationships, particularly in live and occupied environments.
• Regular reporting to senior management.
