Job summary

Barron McCann in Derby is seeking an experienced Contract Manager to own end-to-end contract lifecycle management across customer, supplier and commercial agreements, negotiating terms and mitigating risk.

You will partner with Sales, Operations and Leadership to drive governance, ensure compliance, and deliver commercial value while maintaining strong relationships with external and internal stakeholders. Hybrid working from Derby.

Qualifications

• Proven experience within contract management, commercial or legal support.
• Strong drafting, review and negotiation capabilities.
• Excellent understanding of contractual risk and commercial considerations.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach to problem-solving

Responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements including customer and supplier contracts, NDAs and service contracts.
• Identify contractual and commercial risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Provide expert contractual guidance to operational, sales and leadership teams.
• Manage renewals, amendments, extensions and contract terminations.
• Maintain contract repositories and ensure accurate document control.
• Monitor contractual obligations, milestones and KPI performance.
• Support tender submissions and customer negotiations.
• Build relationships with customers, suppliers and external legal advisors.
• Drive continuous improvement of contract management processes, templates and governance standards.
• Support resolution of disputes and escalations, ensuring compliance with legal and data protection requirements.

The Role

As Contract Manager,you'lltake ownership of the end-to-end contract lifecycle, ensuring agreements are robust, commercially sound and aligned to businessobjectives. From drafting and negotiatingcontracts throughto monitoring compliance and supporting dispute resolution,you'llbe at the heart of our commercial operations.

Essential Experience & Skills

• Proven experience within a contract management, commercial or legal support role
• Strong contract drafting, review and negotiation capabilities
• Excellent understanding of contractual risk and commercial considerations
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Highlyorganisedwith the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach to problem-solving

Desirable

• Experience within IT services, technology or related sectors
• Knowledge of data protection legislation and principles
• Legal qualification and/or contract management certification
