Job summary

West Sussex County Council's Adults Social Care Department is seeking an experienced Contract Lead to manage hospital discharge contracts with NHS partners and providers. You will lead on contract management, review arrangements and support ongoing commissioning activity to ensure a range of services for people leaving hospital.

The role requires strong analytical, literacy, problem-solving and project management skills, with experience in a public sector environment.

An experienced and exceptional Contract Lead who can lead on contract management of our Hospital Discharge contracts, working with our NHS partners and providers to ensure there is a range of services available for people coming out of hospital, reviewing arrangements and supporting ongoing commissioning activity.

The teams work closely with partners and providers to ensure services are in place to support people to be discharged from hospital when they are ready and no longer need hospital care. Commissioning ensures that there are a range of services to support people, and where possible people are supported to return home with the care and support that they need.

About you

You will have a strong understanding of the important role that Adult Social Care can play in people's lives and a commitment to making the customer experience better by working collaboratively with partners and providers. You will have strong analytical, literacy, problem solving and project management skills to manage contracts and produce technical reports which make evidence-based recommendations. You will have strong interpersonal, influencing and persuasion skills to work across organisations and the market to deliver improvements and change. You will have experience or an excellent understanding of working in a public sector environment. You will have a degree or equivalent qualification or experience which demonstrates that level of applied knowledge and understanding to deliver the role.

About the job

Salary: NJC Grade 12 £49,817 to £53,051 per annum
Working Pattern: Full Time (37 hours Monday - Friday)
Contract Length: Permanent
Location: Hybrid working - Office base is Chichester County Hall please note the role requires regular travel across the county

You will need to be able to travel independently around the county, including to areas that may not be easily accessible by public transport. Pool cars and pool bikes available.
