Job summary

Clear Safety is seeking a qualified fire safety consultant/inspector to join the Fire Safety team in a sub-contractor capacity. The role involves inspections and consultancy across social housing and education sectors, delivering fire risk assessments and reports.

You will advise clients, ensure compliance with UK legislation, and survey fire doors. Travel to London and Kent will be required, with a clean driving licence and professional indemnity/public liability insurance expected.

Qualifications

• Must hold NEBOSH General Certificate and Fire Safety & Risk Management Certificate or Level 3 Fire Risk Assessment qualification recognised by IFE/IFSM.
• Good CPD records and willingness to self‑improve knowledge of fire safety.
• Strong knowledge of UK housing fire safety legislation and guidance.
• Member of IFSM or IFE (desirable).
• Experience in residential fire risk.
• Have a suitable fire door inspector qualification.
• Clean driving licence and willingness to travel (London/Kent).
• Insurance cover: PI £2m and Public Liability £5m.
• Good interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out site audits on fire safety subjects and produce technical reports, including fire risk assessments and post-work quality audits.
• Provide fire safety advice to clients in written and oral form.
• Ensure clients comply with current legislation using relevant guidance.
• Survey fire doors and fire stopping.
