Job summary

Medtronic Digital Technologies is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to advance intra-operating device software using modern C++ (C++17+), across embedded, application, and cloud teams. You will own maintainability and help build the software stack for next‑gen devices.

Required are 2–3 years in industry, strong Unix/Linux knowledge, and experience with IPC like gRPC/DDS/Zenoh, plus unit testing via Google Test. Must commute to a London office, office 2 days a week.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer, Electrical, Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
• 2–3 years of industry experience.
• Experience in modern C++ (C++17+).
• Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux environments.
• Experience with inter-process communication frameworks (gRPC, DDS, Zenoh).
• Experience with deployed hardware systems and remote device management.
• Experience with unit testing using frameworks such as Google Test (gtest).

Responsibilities

• Work within diverse teams spanning application software, embedded, cloud, etc.
• Develop enhancements for existing intra-operative device software.
• Own maintainability and reliability of the application software.
• Develop the software stack for next-generation intra-operative devices.
• Maintain and enhance device monitoring and cloud connectivity.
• Investigate, debug, and resolve issues from testing and support.
• Participate in security and regulatory compliance processes.
• Develop robust, secure-by-design software for medical-grade systems.
