Job summary

The Redline Group is urgently seeking a Contract Electronics Design Engineer – Altium to support an innovative Cambridge-based engineering business. This hands-on role focuses on electronics design, PCB development, testing and product validation on a beta-stage product.

The contractor will work closely with Senior Electronics Engineers on a dedicated development project, on-site in Cambridge, for an initial 3-6 month period with potential extension.

Qualifications

• Proven electronics design experience.
• PCB design and layout using Altium.
• Analogue and mixed-signal design experience.
• Hands-on testing and commissioning.
• Experience with microcontrollers and sensor-based electronics.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and validate electronic hardware for the product.
• Create PCB layouts and iterate through debugging cycles.
• Collaborate with Senior Electronics Engineers on Altium-based development.
• Ensure product meets specifications through testing and validation.

Job description

The Redline Group has an urgent requirement for a Contract Electronics Design Engineer – Altium to support an innovative engineering business based in Cambridge. The company develops advanced safety technologies and is seeking an experienced contractor to support the development of a next-generation product currently in the beta phase of development.

This is a hands‑on role focused on electronics design, PCB development, testing and product validation, working closely with Senior Electronics Engineers - Altium on a dedicated development project.

This role is expected to last 3-6 months initially with potential for extension. The successful contractor will be required on‑site in Cambridge, ideally 5 days per week.

This role has an indicative OUTSIDE IR35 determination therefore we can accept candidates who would like to operate through their own PSC.
