Job summary

Gap Technical Ltd is recruiting on behalf of a leading manufacturing business for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their engineering team on a contract basis in Manchester. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance across automated production equipment, with a focus on reliability, safety and continuous improvement.

This role operates a 3-shift rotation (Mornings, Afternoons & Nights) and requires a hands‑on engineer with

Qualifications

Qualified electrical engineer with hands-on maintenance experience in manufacturing.
Experience with planned and reactive maintenance in industrial environments.
Experience with PLC-controlled machinery and fault finding.
Willingness to work a 3-shift rotating pattern.

Responsibilities

Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in accordance with the maintenance schedule.
Respond quickly to electrical breakdowns, diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs.
Fault find on PLC-controlled machinery (diagnostic level).
Maintain electrical control panels, motors, drives, sensors, inverters and associated equipment.
Perform electrical inspections and ensure compliance with site standards.
Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to enhance equipment reliability.
