Job summary

Professional Technical Ltd is seeking a skilled Contract Design Engineer to drive product development from concept to production. You will deliver high-quality 3D CAD models, drawings and technical documentation using Creo, and contribute to BOMs, material selection and design for manufacture.

The role requires a degree in engineering, at least five years' experience in design engineering, and strong analytical and communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering or closely related discipline.
• 5+ years in design engineering or product development.
• Strong experience with 3D CAD software, preferably Creo or equivalent.
• Proven ability to produce detailed drawings, 3D models and technical docs.
• Knowledge of engineering materials, components selection and design principles.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine engineering designs from concept through to production.
• Produce accurate 3D CAD models, detailed drawings and technical documentation.
• Create and maintain BOMs, component specifications and data.
• Prepare and maintain design records and engineering documentation.
• Select materials and components balancing performance, cost, reliability and manufacturability.
• Support validation and testing activities with test specifications as needed.
• Apply D-FMEA, FEA and risk assessment techniques.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams, suppliers and testing specialists to resolve issues.
• Provide technical input throughout the design and development process.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and product optimization.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant standards and regulations.
