Job summary

Arm is seeking a Portfolio Software Full Stack Engineer (Contractor) to join the Portfolio Team. The role focuses on backend development using Node.js and TypeScript, with an emphasis on system design, architecture and code quality.

Frontend skills are a plus, and experience evaluating AI-generated code is important. You will design and evolve backend services, APIs and data models, while collaborating with frontend developers, product owners and other engineers.

Qualifications

• Experience building backend services using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and API design.
• Proficiency with RESTful APIs and service integrations.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with Git and modern development workflows.
• Knowledge of containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP).
• Experience reviewing AI-generated code for correctness and security.
• Nice to have Python for scripting and automation.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js, TypeScript and Express.js or similar.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs and service integrations.
• Develop maintainable, well-tested and performant code following engineering best practices.
• Design data models and work with relational and NoSQL databases where appropriate.
• Improve application reliability, observability and performance through monitoring, logging and optimisation.
• Write clean, maintainable and well-documented code following standards.
• Perform code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Review AI-generated code for correctness and security; contribute to workflows and best practices.
• Collaborate on system architecture decisions and translate requirements into scalable solutions.
