About the Team
The Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) plays a key role in upholding the quality and safety of nursing and midwifery education and practice. The Planning, Risk and Performance team in our Professional Regulation directorate is responsible for providing a professional business management service. We monitor performance, manage risk, and promote best practices to protect the public and maintain professional standards. The team will also be responsible for effective contract management across the directorate.

Initially, you’ll lead the day-to-day management of contracts with our partners who deliver the NMC’s Test of Competence through several high-value concessions contracts. Developing effective working relationships, strong decision-making, quality assurance, and analytical skills are essential, as you’ll be responsible for maximising supplier performance and ensuring robust processes. Key responsibilities include coordinating all activities linked to the Test of Competence for nurses, midwives, and nursing associates. You’ll apply expert contract and supplier management skills, and take a lead role in engaging with stakeholders and suppliers in this critical area. You will also develop and shape the team as it assumes responsibility for all the directorate’s contracts ranging from legal services to medical assessments.
