Job summary

Burns Sheehan Limited in London is seeking a hands-on Analytics Engineer for an Outside IR35 contract on a hybrid basis. You’ll take over regulatory, tax and card scheme reporting while helping the data team automate it.

Initially you’ll run and validate reports, meet deadlines across jurisdictions, and replace manual steps with dbt, SQL and Airflow pipelines, with comprehensive documentation for handover.

Qualifications

• Experience with regulatory, tax or financial data and audit timelines.
• Ability to translate manual processes into automated pipelines.
• Strong communication with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Run and validate existing reports (card scheme, tax and regulatory) and make sure they’re archived and delivered on time.
• Fix data issues by hand where needed to get reports through, then build upstream validations so they don’t recur.
• Replace Python scripts, Looker exports and connected sheets with production-grade pipelines.
• Be the go-to data partner for Legal, Tax and Finance, including supporting regulator queries.
• Write runbooks, document operating patterns and set alerting standards for handover.
