Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a permanent, full-time Contract Accountant to join the Finance team based in Worksop. The role involves managing a portfolio of contracts, leading forecasting and reporting, and completing monthly management accounts with performance analysis.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
  1. Produce management accounts for key contracts following set processes and procedures.
  2. Maintain relevant balance sheet accounts and ensure compliance with Financial Standards.
  3. Manage relationships with Business Partners and Operational Managers.
  4. Ensure accurate contract P+L statements and support monthly forecasting with Operational Managers.
  5. Provide timely management reports and financial models supporting contract profitability.
  6. Handle ad hoc analysis requests to support business decision-making.
  7. Implement contract controls for accurate accounting.
  8. Drive efficiencies and profit improvement plans.
  9. Travel to client sites as needed to collaborate with Operational Managers.
  10. Assist in identifying business risks and opportunities.
  11. Ensure proper reporting and accounting for contract lifecycle obligations.
  12. Adhere to stewardship, financial models, and quarterly review requirements.
  13. Build relationships, demonstrate integrity, agility, and reliability, and show respect to colleagues.
Essential Skills and Knowledge:
  1. Working towards a recognized accounting qualification.
  2. Ability to collaborate with non-finance staff.
  3. Proficiency in Excel and Google Office Suite.
  4. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects under pressure.
  5. Enthusiasm and motivation to succeed and motivate others.
  6. Conscientious, self-motivated, and flexible.
  7. Excellent communication, written, and presentation skills.
  8. Strong ethical and professional values.
Desirable Skills and Knowledge:
  • Degree-level education.
