Job description

Continuous Improvement Team Leader

Peterborough, Cambridgeshire

This individual is responsible for managing process development projects related to supporting new product introduction, improving existing product quality, optimizing costs of existing processes, and expanding the process technology knowledge base. The role involves analyzing and documenting results, building technical and technological capabilities, executing projects, and communicating with the Business Team, Management, and the McCormick technical community. The person maintains working relationships with departments such as Product Development, Marketing, Marketing Research, Sales, Packaging, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Corporate Laboratories, and the TIC Process Development Group.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Manage three direct reports.
  2. Lead process development and support new product introductions.
  3. Manage daily project activities.
  4. Serve as the key contact for teams and external stakeholders, ensuring effective communication.
  5. Share specifications and standards with the project team.
  6. Define team roles and responsibilities and involve external expertise as needed.
  7. Participate in FMEA, FAT, SAT, and update project status to stakeholders.
  8. Ensure projects meet specifications and efficiency criteria, with post-project reports.
  9. Standardize processes and programs through documentation of SOPs.
  10. Build technical and technological capabilities through effective process changes and skill qualification systems.
  11. Manage CAAP activities, including technology roadmaps, budget planning, and capital justification documentation.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  1. Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
  2. Experience in Process Engineering and Project Management within food processing, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, or similar industries.
  3. Leadership experience, including coaching and behavioral modeling.
  4. Knowledge of product and process change management.
  5. Strong project management skills.
  6. Effective communication and collaboration skills across various organizational levels and external stakeholders.
  7. Professional maturity and ethical behavior.
  8. Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams.
  9. Adaptability to complex, ambiguous, and fast-paced environments with changing priorities.
