Job summary

Ontic is seeking a Continuous Improvement Manager to join the CI team at our Bishops Cleeve and Staverton sites in Cheltenham. You will drive cross-functional improvements aligned with business strategies and own an annual calendar of CI activities.

Ideal candidates have experience in CI, change management, and a passion for Lean Six Sigma (Black Belt or Green Belt). Proficiency in Power BI and ability to lead complex projects is essential.

• Proficient in creating/maintaining CI calendars and tracking KPIs.

Job description

Ontic, a leading licensor and manufacturer of complex engineering parts for the global aerospace and defence industries, are now recruiting for a Continuous Improvement Manager to join our Continuous Improvement team where you'll support us in driving improvements in line with business strategies. This role will be based at our Bishops Cleeve & Staverton sites in Cheltenham.

What will you be doing?

You’ll be working cross-functionally to drive improvements throughout our ROW (Rest of World) business in line with the strategy set out by our Site Directors. You’ll nurture engagement and manage change through a series of complex and high-profile projects which will initially focus on process improvements.

You will be responsible for both identifying areas for CI as well as taking up the challenges identified by others. You’ll have autonomy to create an annual calendar of improvement activity and all successes will be measure against a targeted business KPI.

You’ll need to be excited by change and have had experience within Continuous Improvement engagement, management, and execution, which doesn’t necessarily need to be within the aviation industry (although a passion for learning our industry is essential). You’ll ideally be a proficient user of Power BI and able to develop / create complex visuals.

In addition, you’ll ideally have a working understanding of LSS (Lean Six Sigma) Black Belt, however we do welcome applications from LSS Green Belts.

You’ll be a self-starter who can run their own calendar work to guidelines, utilising resource from across the business. You’ll be very mindful of our strategic business aims and the impact this has internally on departments, ensuring that you are scheduling projects that will not overlap with other aims or resources. You’ll be able to assess tasks which you need to escalat, and tasks which you can empower a member of the team to complete.
