We are looking for a Content Editor to join the Liverpool Echo. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Content Editor seeking a new challenge or a senior reporter ready to advance their journalism career.

Role Responsibilities

1. Support a team of reporters to deliver engaging content across words, pictures, video, data, and interactives.
2. Manage publishing of accurate, engaging, and legally sound news and lifestyle content.
3. Use your news sense to decide when to launch live blogs for big stories and maintain momentum.
4. Lead and inspire your team to pitch and write great stories.
5. Oversee our websites and social media channels, developing our social strategy.
6. Contribute to our Customer Value Strategy, focusing on newsletters and audience loyalty.
7. Work shifts including evenings and weekends, requiring flexibility.

Candidate Requirements

1. Senior NCTJ/NQJ Level 6 qualification or equivalent, with extensive UK media law knowledge.
2. Proven experience in digital news content creation in fast-paced environments.
3. Excellent writing, storytelling, and understanding of audience engagement strategies.
4. Good knowledge of SEO, search, social media, and digital audience behavior.
5. Experience with social platforms like Facebook, X, Instagram, TikTok.
6. Previous management experience or eagerness to step into a leadership role.
7. Strong local knowledge to inform content decisions.
