Company Description

We are looking for a Content Editor to join the Liverpool Echo. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Content Editor or a senior reporter seeking a new challenge or career advancement in journalism.

Role Responsibilities

1. Support a team of reporters to deliver diverse content including words, pictures, video, data, and interactives to maximize audience engagement.
2. Organize and manage the publication of accurate, engaging, and legally compliant news and lifestyle content.
3. Lead live coverage of major stories, maintaining momentum and reader interest.
4. Manage and inspire your team, oversee website and social media channels, and develop social media strategies.
5. Contribute to developing customer loyalty strategies through newsletters and other engagement tools.
6. Work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

Ideal candidates will have:

• Senior NCTJ/NQJ Level 6 journalism qualification or equivalent experience with extensive UK media law knowledge.
• Proven experience in digital news editing within a fast-paced newsroom environment.
• Excellent storytelling skills, understanding of audience engagement, and knowledge of SEO, search, and social media.
• Experience or interest in people management and local community knowledge.
