Job summary

Nuneaton & Bedworth Borough Council is seeking a Communications & Marketing Officer – Content Creation to join our Communications team. You will craft engaging content for digital and traditional channels to promote council services, achievements and events.

You will support campaigns, manage media enquiries, and collaborate across the organisation to ensure high‑quality communications. The role involves attending events to gather content and delivering timely, compelling materials.

Qualifications

• Experience in content creation, media relations, social media communications and/or visual design.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong digital skills, including Microsoft Office, web platforms and content creation or editing software.
• The ability to manage multiple priorities, work to tight deadlines and deliver high-quality content.
• Strong relationship-building skills and a commitment to excellent customer service.
• A Level 4 qualification in a relevant subject, or a willingness to work towards one.

Responsibilities

• Create engaging and accessible content for digital and traditional platforms (social media, websites, press releases, videos, internal communications).
• Support campaigns and events, respond to media enquiries, and work with colleagues to ensure consistent, high-quality communications.
• Attend community events to gather content and draft media releases.
• Schedule social media campaigns and analyse engagement data to improve future communications.
