Are you an organised, curious and digitally confident individual with an interest in the arts, business development and the way organisations work? Landmark Theatres is seeking a Content & Business Development Officer to provide direct support to the Head of Content & Business Development across a varied and fast-moving portfolio.
In this role, you will provide essential administrative and organisational support, helping to coordinate meetings, manage information, process invoices and expenses, track actions and deadlines, and support the preparation of reports and briefings. You will also work with sales, income and business development data, helping to maintain accurate information and turn data into clear and engaging reports, presentations and visual materials.
This is an excellent development opportunity for someone who wants to gain an insight into senior leadership and the commercial and strategic running of a cultural organisation. You will have exposure to areas including business development, income generation, fundraising, audience development, partnerships, reporting and organisational strategy, while developing your own skills in administration, data, design and project coordination.
We are looking for someone who is highly organised, proactive and willing to bring their own ideas. You will be encouraged to identify practical ways to improve how information is managed, how reports are presented and how day-to-day processes can work more effectively. Confidence with digital tools, an eye for good design and an interest in data visualisation would be particularly welcome.
The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently and taking ownership of agreed tasks, particularly when the Head of Content & Business Development is working away from the organisation. Above all, we are looking for someone who enjoys making things happen, keeping people organised and ensuring that important details and actions don't get lost.

Landmark Theatres is a portfolio of regional venues in North Devon and Peterborough receiving a wide variety of arts and cultural opportunities for local communities. This includes major touring productions, high-profile live music acts, big-name stand-up comedy, dance, superb theatre and new writing. We also produce high-quality Musicals, Drama and Family productions including our annual family Pantomime in Peterborough.
Our venues consist of: Queen Theatre, Barnstaple (650 seats), Landmark Theatre, Ilfracombe (450 seats), the New Theatre Peterborough (1,100 seats) and the Key Theatre Peterborough (112 & 360 seats). We are the largest new theatre entrant to Arts Council England's National Portfolio (23-26) and are working with a number of high-quality partners such as Birmingham Royal Ballet, The National Theatre and Paines Plough.
We receive an annual grant of £1 million a year for the current three-year funding cycle from 2023-24 to 2025-26 to ensure that Landmark Theatres can deliver an ambitious artistic mission, driving quality work, inspiring and developing new talent for and with the audience we serve across North Devon and Peterborough. This funding is a great vote of confidence in our potential to deliver to areas previously underinvested in culturally. We are now building a new producing theatre organisation outside London – for the first time in a generation.

The Content & Business Development Officer will provide direct administrative, organisational and practical support to Landmark Theatres' Head of Content & Business Development, helping to coordinate the day-to-day activity across content, business development, income generation, reporting and strategic projects.
Working across departments, the postholder will support meetings, briefings, reporting, sales and income tracking, financial administration and the preparation of presentations, pitches and business development materials. They will help ensure information is accurate, actions are followed up and key deadlines and priorities are kept on track.
The role will also provide an opportunity to develop skills in data, visual communication and business development, with the postholder encouraged to bring ideas and identify practical improvements to how information is managed, reported and presented across the organisation.
The role is subject to a 3-month probation period to ensure the successful candidate is suitably supported to carry out their duties. For this role we would require a 3-month notice period.

You may be at an early stage of your career, looking to move into arts management, business development, marketing, data or strategy, or you may already have experience in an administrative or coordinator role and be ready to broaden your responsibilities.
You do not need to know everything when you start. What is most important is that you are highly digitally and IT literate, with confidence in organising, analysing and presenting information. Strong skills in Excel and digital tools, alongside an eye for design and visual communication, would be particularly valuable. Beyond this, if you are interested, organised, willing to learn and confident enough to ask questions and suggest better ways of doing things, this could be the perfect role for you.
You should enjoy getting the detail right while also being curious about the bigger picture. You will be working with a senior leader with a broad and fast-moving portfolio, so the ability to bring order to complexity, spot what needs doing and take things forward without always being asked will be highly valued.
