Job summary

TLP in Felixstowe is seeking an experienced Traffic Operator to join our busy container haulage operation. You will be responsible for keeping vehicles, drivers and containers moving efficiently across our UK network, and for adapting plans to last‑minute changes that arise in transport.

Key activities include daily transport planning, allocating work to HGV drivers, coordinating collections and deliveries at ports and depots, monitoring compliance, updating TOPS and Excel reports, and

Qualifications

Experience in container haulage or transport operations is required.
Strong planning and organisational skills for multi-port and inland terminal environments.
Good understanding of drivers hours and transport compliance.

Responsibilities

Plan daily transport and allocate resources across UK locations.
Coordinate container movements across ports, inland terminals, depots and customer sites.
Liaise with operators, port supervisors, drivers, customers and freight partners.
Monitor and adapt schedules to meet changing operational demands.
Ensure drivers have correct booking details, documentation and information.
Monitor waiting time, demurrage and other haulage charges.
