Job summary

Streamline Search Ltd in Stanford-le-Hope is seeking an experienced Transport Planner or Manager to join the container haulage operations. The role focuses on coordinating daily container movements and port schedules in a fast-paced, port-centric logistics environment.

You will balance customer requirements with driver availability, monitor live operations, and adjust plans to maintain service levels. CPC qualification is mandatory for Manager level candidates; UK port knowledge is highly

Qualifications

• Experience in container transport planning is essential.
• Good working knowledge of UK port operations is desirable.
• Experience in a traffic office or transport coordination role.
• Familiarity with industry systems such as Destin8 or TOPS is advantageous.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Solid IT skills, especially Excel, helpful for planning.
• CPC qualification is mandatory for Transport Manager level candidates.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate daily container movements in and out of London gateway port.
• Manage bookings, container releases, and port-related scheduling activity.
• Collaborate with drivers, customers, subcontractors and internal teams.
• Monitor live operations and resolve delays, breakdowns, or disruptions.
• Adjust transport plans in real time to maintain service levels.
• Optimize fleet utilisation and reduce inefficiencies where possible.
• Support administrative and compliance processes.
• Liaise with port systems and terminal procedures as required.
• Ensure all work complies with transport regulations and company procedures.
