Cisco Systems, Inc. seeks a Consulting Engineer to join the UK Customer Experience team. This role focuses on designing and implementing network-centric solutions with a security-forward posture for national-scale customers.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent, with 5+ years in customer-facing technical consulting or delivery.
• Deep knowledge of L2/L3 networking protocols and Catalyst router/switch platforms.
• Experience designing and deploying SDA and SD-WAN solutions.
• Experience integrating network services appliances (firewalls, IPS, load balancers, WAN optimizers).
• Professional certifications (e.g., CCNP, Cisco DevNet) expected.

Your Impact

Our CX UK customers require the highest levels of infrastructure security, to ensure the confidentiality of their data and the availability of the services that they deliver to the nation. As a Consulting Engineer, you will build strong trust-based customer relationships, applying technical expertise to design, and implementation of sophisticated networking solutions that directly accelerate business outcomes. You will:

• Contribute to the design and implementation of cutting-edge Cisco technologies for large and complex customer network environments.
• Leverage innovative technology to solve real-world business problems and deliver scalable, robust services.
• Integrate emerging AI and automation methods into delivery practices to automate manual deployment processes, and support infrastructure-as-code platforms
• Analyze and monitor network performance providing impactful options for optimization, efficiency and capability improvements.
• Support the team for complex problem resolution, demonstrating deep technical expertise to resolve sophisticated issues across a broad range of technologies.
• Develop and contribute digital intellectual capital, repeatable delivery frameworks, and knowledge-sharing practices..
• Provide critical feedback to Engineering and Product organizations to influence future product roadmaps.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or equivalent, with 5+ years of relevant experience in customer-facing technical consulting, pre-sales, and/or service delivery roles.
• Deep knowledge of L2/L3 networking protocols and technologies, with strong hands-on Catalyst router and switch platform experience.
• Proven experience in design and deployment of networking solutions including SDA and SD-WAN.
• Experience integrating network services appliances (such as firewalls, IPS, load balancers, WAN optimizers)
• Professional level (e.g. CCNP, Cisco DevNet) or equivalent vendor certification expected.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong communication and planning skills, while being self-motivated with a focus on execution.
• Knowledge of software programmability, automation (Python, Ansible, Terraform and so on), orchestration, and/or virtualization technologies.
• Experience of working in the Public Sector - Armed Forces veterans are welcome!
