Job summary

624 Cisco International Limited is seeking a Consulting Engineer to design and implement advanced Cisco networking solutions for UK customers, focusing on security, SDA, SD-WAN, and automation. The role requires strong L2/L3 networking knowledge, Catalyst expertise, and relevant certifications, with UK Security Clearance often needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent with 5+ years in customer-facing technical consulting, pre-sales or service delivery.
• Deep knowledge of L2/L3 networking protocols with strong hands-on Catalyst router and switch experience.
• Design and deployment experience of networking solutions including SDA and SD-WAN.
• Experience integrating network services appliances (firewalls, IPS, load balancers, WAN optimizers).
• Professional level (CCNP, Cisco DevNet) or equivalent vendor certification expected.

As a Consulting Engineer, you will build strong trust-based customer relationships, applying technical expertise to design, and implementation of sophisticated networking solutions that directly accelerate business outcomes.

• Contribute to the design and implementation of cutting-edge Cisco technologies for large and complex customer network environments.
• Leverage innovative technology to solve real-world business problems and deliver scalable, robust services.
• Integrate emerging AI and automation methods into delivery practices to automate manual deployment processes, and support infrastructure-as-code platforms.
• Analyze and monitor network performance providing impactful options for optimization, efficiency and capability improvements.
• Support the team for complex problem resolution, demonstrating deep technical expertise to resolve sophisticated issues across a broad range of technologies.
• Develop and contribute digital intellectual capital, repeatable delivery frameworks, and knowledge-sharing practices..
• Provide critical feedback to Engineering and Product organizations to influence future product roadmaps.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or equivalent, with 5+ years of relevant experience in customer-facing technical consulting, pre-sales, and/or service delivery roles.
• Deep knowledge of L2/L3 networking protocols and technologies, with strong hands-on Catalyst router and switch platform experience.
• Proven experience in design and deployment of networking solutions including SDA and SD-WAN.
• Experience integrating network services appliances (such as firewalls, IPS, load balancers, WAN optimizers).
• Professional level (e.g. CCNP, Cisco DevNet) or equivalent vendor certification expected.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong communication and planning skills, while being self-motivated with a focus on execution.
• Knowledge of software programmability, automation (Python, Ansible, Terraform and so on), orchestration, and/or virtualization technologies.
• Experience of working in the Public Sector – Armed Forces veterans are welcome!
