Job summary

The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is seeking to appoint a substantive Consultant Urological Surgeon with a specialist interest in Paediatric Urology. The post will be predominantly based at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, with responsibilities extending across both hospital sites.

Qualifications

• Subspecialist interest in Paediatric Urology
• Consultant level experience in General Urology
• Experience in managing paediatric urological patients preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide independent consultant level care for patients in urology
• Deliver elective and emergency care with paediatric caseload
• Support education and supervision of junior medical staff
• Engage in clinical governance, audit and quality improvement
• Undertake administrative responsibilities to support safe practice
• Develop enhanced clinical skills in acutely ill patient management
• Meet clinical and quality targets with clinical teams and commissioners
• Follow patients throughout their clinical pathways
