Our Planning team is growing, and we are looking for a Town Planner to support our team with a range of planning duties focused on policy, strategy, infrastructure consents, and regeneration planning.

As part of our Environmental team, you'll help improve quality of life. Your work could involve protected species, pollution, surface water and materials management, air quality, or noise, especially in some of the world's busiest and most beautiful locations.

We work to protect our natural environment and water resources while powering our world for future generations. We are addressing challenges like climate change, rapid urbanization, and biodiversity loss, and responding to large-scale events such as floods and wildfires.

Our team supports clients with complex projects including Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects, energy developments, residential and commercial schemes, socio-economic, health, and community planning, and research into the planning process. Our clients include Highways England, Transport for London, HS2, National Grid, Homes England, the Environment Agency, Welsh Government, and the Canals & Rivers Trust, among others.

At Arcadis, variety is standard. You will have the opportunity to work on diverse projects across our business. As a Town Planner, you will:

  • Provide planning advice to clients and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on masterplans, planning applications, regeneration strategies, policies, and impact assessments.
  • Partner with clients to understand their complex challenges and apply your expertise to deliver optimal solutions.
  • Support client relationships and contribute to work-winning efforts.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experience in town planning, including policy, strategy, planning applications, consents, and regeneration planning.
  • Understanding of socio-economic and health impact assessments for development and infrastructure projects.
  • Experience with planning applications, especially infrastructure consents.
  • Experience supporting masterplans and impact assessments within matrix and dispersed teams.
  • A relevant degree and a Masters in an accredited planning course, working towards MRTPI chartership.
  • Knowledge of stakeholder engagement methods, including engaging hard-to-reach groups and virtual public engagement.

We are expanding our team due to increased project demand. We offer variety as standard and the chance to work on projects across various sectors, including automotive, aviation, and manufacturing.

This role can be based in Birmingham, Leeds, London, or Manchester, with opportunities for remote working.
