Shell UK is seeking a strategic thinker to tackle technology, data and AI questions with enterprise impact. You will structure ambiguous problems, gather evidence across business, technology and market signals, and translate insights into decisions that drive action at scale.
You will work with experienced consultants and senior stakeholders across Businesses and Functions, developing strategic options, business cases and roadmaps.
If you enjoy untangling difficult questions, finding the insight that changes the conversation and turning strategy into practical action, this role offers broad exposure and the opportunity to accelerate your development.
You will join Shell's internal Technology, Data & AI Strategy practice and work on technology, digital, data and AI questions from across the organisation. Depending on your experience, you may deliver a defined analytical module or own a substantial workstream. In every case, you will work with experienced consultants, senior stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams on problems with genuine enterprise relevance. You will also help shape how the team uses AI in its own work: we reimagine our own ways of working before we advise others on theirs, and fresh thinking from every level counts.
Relevant experience in technology, digital, data, AI or business strategy, gained in a consultancy, enterprise strategy team or comparable environment.
Strong structured problem-solving, business analysis and quantitative analytical skills.
Hands‑on curiosity about AI, with experience using AI tools to improve your own work and the judgement to check their outputs critically.
The ability to synthesise evidence, identify what matters and communicate a clear point of view.
Good written, visual and verbal communication and the confidence to work directly with stakeholders and subject‑matter experts.
An interest in relevant disciplines such as IT strategy, operating models, capability assessment, digital transformation, data and AI, emerging technology, portfolio management or business case development.
Sound delivery discipline, curiosity, high standards and a willingness to learn and contribute to the wider team.
Responsibilities will increase with experience, from contributing to analysis and workstreams to independently owning substantial workstreams, engaging stakeholders directly and supporting colleagues. Appointment level will reflect relevant experience, autonomy and demonstrated impact.
We welcome candidates with a range of relevant experience. Appointments will be determined through the selection process based on the quality and relevance of experience, analytical depth, autonomy and impact demonstrated.
Varied, high-impact assignments across a broad range of enterprise challenges.
Exposure to senior leaders and important enterprise decisions throughout your journey with the team.
The chance to combine analytical depth with facilitation, influencing and strategy-to-execution experience.
A supportive consulting community where you can learn from experienced colleagues and progressively take on broader accountability.
Learn to use AI in strategy work from the start, in a team that aims to set the standard for AI-enabled consulting at Shell.
Work that allows you to see how your analysis and recommendations influence real decisions and outcomes.
You will turn complex questions into clear analysis and practical recommendations, deliver high-quality work, help improve how the team works with AI and progressively take on broader ownership as your experience grows.
