Consultant Social Worker in the

Your Role And Responsibilities
The Consultant Social worker is responsible for the management of their own complex and challenging caseload and offering support to social care staff within the team.
Ideally, you will have experience of partnership working and working successfully with colleagues in other services on complex issues. You will hold a case load of primarily 16 and 17 year old care leavers, providing 1:1 support.
You will promote the need for improvement and act as a role model for change. Positive, committed, adaptable and thorough, those around you will appreciate your confident approach and your personal integrity. You must be able to work to deadlines and motivate others to work effectively.
You will need
- a Social Work degree and current Social Work England registration
- experience of working with young people in a professional capacity
- an understanding of the issues and challenges that affect Care Leavers as they move into independence
- determination and to be creative in engaging young people.

The team
The Leaving Care and UASC Service and work with a specialist team of Social Workers and Personal Advisers to deliver high-quality social care services to young people leaving care throughout Suffolk.
The leaving Care Service are looking for a committed self-motivated person to provide advice and support to children in care and care leavers as they make their transition from care to independence.
