As a Business Analyst in Deloitte Digital Public Sector, you will work with clients to understand their business needs and requirements, and translate those requirements into functional specifications and use cases. You will analyze and document business processes and workflows, collaborate with technical teams, participate in testing and quality assurance activities, and provide support during implementation and post-implementation phases. Additionally, you will conduct stakeholder interviews, identify and document risks and issues, develop and maintain project documentation, communicate project status and issues to stakeholders, provide guidance to junior team members, and stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.

Key responsibilities:

  • Translate client requirements into functional specifications and use cases.
  • Be a key member of the team and help to foster successful outcomes and drive inclusivity for all.
  • Analyse and document business processes and workflows.
  • Collaborate with technical teams.
  • Participate in testing and quality assurance activities.
  • Provide support during implementation and post-implementation phases.
  • Conduct stakeholder interviews.
  • Identify and document risks and issues.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation.
  • Communicate project status and issues to stakeholders.
  • Provide guidance to junior team members.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.

Essential
  • Be a critical thinker, able to question the status quo and imagine a different future, whilst factoring in what's feasible and best value for money.
  • Great at delving into the details when necessary, as well as being able to step back and think about the bigger picture.
  • Experience developing strong client relationships.
  • Ability to run and develop workshops, training sessions and presentations.
  • Be confident discussing creative ideas, digital solutions, and user experience with other roles in the delivery team e.g. developers, testers, user researchers, interaction designers and product owners.
  • Knowledge of the Agile development process.
  • Experience with process mapping as-is and to-be processes, gap analysis, and writing user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Understanding of risks and issues.
  • Experience working in digital transformation.
  • Organised, collaborative, and able to mentor junior analysts and work as a team.
Desirable
  • Previous experience as a Business Analyst or Analyst Manager, or equivalent.
  • Experience in digital transformation in the public sector.
  • Software development, service design, or user experience or equivalent background or ability to understand these concepts.
