Job summary

Priory Hospital Kemple View, part of the Priory Group, seeks a Consultant Psychiatrist/Medical Director to lead the medical team at the Blackburn site. The role oversees clinical governance, strategic direction, and delivery of high-quality psychiatric services with a focus on safety and patient care.

The post offers senior leadership responsibilities, a salary of £180,000 per year with a £10,000 stipend, and a 37.5-hour week within a permanent, full-time contract.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional leadership to the medical workforce and set strategic direction across the site.
• Champion clinical excellence, governance and a positive culture.
• Oversee medical workforce management including rotas, leave, recruitment and clinical cover.
• Lead on clinical governance, quality improvement and regulatory compliance (CQC).
• Support and develop medical colleagues through supervision, CPD and development planning.
• Collaborate with the Hospital Director and Senior Management Team to drive service improvements.
• Provide leadership on complex clinical matters and contribute to safe, evidence-based patient care.
• Support change, innovation and service development across the hospital.

Full Time - 37.5 hours per week

Priory Hospital Kemple View has an opportunity for a Medical Director to join our team.

Located in Blackburn, Lancashire, Priory Hospital Kemple View is a 90-bedded hospital, offering level 2 rehabilitation, and secure services, for adult males. We can support people with a mental health condition and/or a personality disorder.

You’ll be part of a dedicated and compassionate team, all working together to ensure the smooth running of the hospital and to support the wellbeing of our patients. While your role doesn’t involve providing direct care, your contribution is vital in helping to maintain a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for everyone. Whether you're assisting with day-to-day operations, keeping things organised, or ensuring our spaces are well looked after, your support plays an important part in creating a positive experience for those who live and work here.

• Provide professional leadership to the medical workforce and strategic direction across the site.

• Work closely with the Hospital Director and wider Senior Management Team to drive service improvement and strategic priorities.
• Provide leadership on complex clinical matters and contribute to the delivery of safe, evidence-based patient care.
• Support organisational change, innovation and service development across the hospital.
