We are seeking an experienced full-time Consultant Psychiatrist who will work at Cygnet Hospital Colchester and provide senior medical cover care on Ramsey Unit, our 21 bed high support inpatient rehabilitation (level 2) service for men.
The post holder will be the Responsible Clinician and will oversee and maintain the care of all ward inpatients as required and will also have responsibility for auditing the medical services rendered at the ward and ensuring their good quality in accordance to GMC standards of good medical practice and other relevant professional guidelines.
In this role, your expertise will be the driving force for life-changing treatment fully supported by a Specialty Doctor and first-class multidisciplinary team including qualified nurses, psychologists, and occupational therapists.
And you'll have the opportunity to progress to Medical Director Level through our management schemes.
Cygnet Hospital Colchester is our 59 bed service providing a range of intensive support and rehabilitation services for men with learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders or mental health needs.
Ramsey Unit is our high support inpatient rehabilitation (level 2) service for men based at Cygnet Hospital Colchester. The service is delivered in a purpose-built therapeutic environment, where the focus is on maximising positive outcomes and recovery while focusing on discharge planning from the moment individuals arrive.
The post holder will be the Responsible Clinician and have overall medical responsibility of patient treatment plans, whilst liaising closely with the Multi-Disciplinary Team (Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Registered Mental Health Nurses, Social Workers etc.)
The post holder will be expected to act as a positive role model, maintaining and demonstrating a positive attitude towards patients, their families, visitors and other staff.
