Job summary

Priory Hospital Preston wishes to appoint a Consultant Psychiatrist to join the eating disorders unit on a part-time basis (22.5 hours per week). The pro rata salary for this role is £108,528 per year, reflecting senior clinical responsibility and leadership of the team.

The hospital provides care for adult males and females with acute mental health needs and eating disorders across four wards. The role includes leadership, governance and clinical accountability within a supportive Priory

Qualifications

• MRCPsych or equivalent qualification and CCT or equivalent
• Be included on the GMC Specialist Register with Section 12(2) approval and Approved Clinician status
• Ongoing commitment to continuous professional development

Responsibilities

• Play a key part in patient recovery and tailor treatment plans with dignity and high standards of care
• Provide clinical leadership and take overall responsibility for patient care
• Lead multidisciplinary ward rounds, risk assessments, strategic reviews and therapeutic planning
• Act as Responsible Clinician for patients detained under the Mental Health Act (1983)
• Oversee referrals, admissions and pre-admission assessments
• Provide expert psychiatric input to multidisciplinary assessment, formulation and treatment planning
