Job summary

Priory Hospital Preston is recruiting a consultant psychiatrist to join our team. The post offers part-time hours (22.5 per week) at Priory Hospital Preston, Bartle, near Preston, an adult mental health hospital with multiple wards and services for eating disorders.

You will work within a compassionate multidisciplinary team, taking clinical responsibility, leading ward rounds, and guiding treatment plans to support patient recovery and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• MRCPsych or equivalent
• CCT or equivalent
• Inclusion on GMC Specialist Register with Section 12(2) approval and Approved Clinician status
• Strong team leadership and collaboration skills
• Ongoing CPD and clinical knowledge maintenance

Responsibilities

• Fulfil Responsible Clinician role for patients detained under the Mental Health Act (1983)
• Lead multidisciplinary ward rounds and risk reviews
• Contribute to preadmission assessments and referral processes
• Develop treatment plans and supervise junior staff and trainees
