A leading healthcare provider in North London seeks a motivated Consultant Psychiatrist to join their CAMHS division. This role involves managing young patients, contributing to research, and participating in quality improvement projects. We are seeking an enthusiastic, skilled, approachable, and motivated consultant to join the NLFT CAMHS division. The role involves managing the care of young people requiring assessment and treatment within Barnet West CAMHS, based at Edgware Community Hospital. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a well-functioning multidisciplinary team of dedicated professionals. The position is currently vacant as the previous post holder is taking on additional management responsibilities and helping to establish a single point of access within the CAMHS division.
The appointed person will be encouraged to develop their own interests and pursue research collaborations with the child and adolescent research unit at University College London, led by Professor Argyris Stringaris. They will participate in QI projects across services and contribute to teaching medical students and psychiatry trainees. The trust is transforming CAMHS services using the THRIVE principles, and the candidate will be involved in developing and implementing these changes to provide effective and compassionate care. Mentoring by experienced consultants will support professional development, and participation in the local Consultant CPD/Peer support group is expected.

The role involves ensuring high-quality clinical care within the Trust's policies, managing a caseload of approximately 70 cases, and undertaking clinical administrative duties. The post holder will be an active team member, participate in multidisciplinary meetings, support service transformation and QI projects, and ensure appropriate case allocation. They will also play a role in implementing children and young people's IAPT services and managing cases with direct face-to-face contact. This position requires a DBS check in accordance with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1975 (Exceptions Order 1975). Applicants must submit to a criminal record check.
Salary: £105,504 to £139,882 per annum plus London Weighting of £2,162.
