Job summary

Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to lead CAMHS Intellectual Disability services, provide comprehensive psychiatric assessments and develop holistic treatment plans. The role requires liaison with families, community teams and agencies, and clinical leadership for the ID CAMHS team.

Responsibilities include MHA oversight, on-call assessments, high-quality documentation, teaching medical students and trainees, and ongoing professional development

Qualifications

• MRCPsych and CCT or CESR in CA Psychiatry (or within 6 months of eligibility).
• Inclusion on Specialist Register (or anticipated within six months).
• Approved under Section 12 of the Mental Health Act 1983.

Responsibilities

• Provide psychiatric assessments, formulation, diagnosis, developing a holistic plan of management including medical management, as well as assessment of risk to self and others.
• Liaison with community teams, families and agencies supporting children and young people with Intellectual Disability.
• Provide clinical leadership to the CAMHS Intellectual Disability team and ensure appropriate use of the Mental Health Act in community assessments and 136 matters.
• Supervise medical undergraduate students and postgraduate trainees; contribute to audit and outcome monitoring; maintain CPD and revalidation processes.

Education
