This is a full-time role, working 40 hours per week, with an annual salary up to £189,900, depending on experience.

How will we support you?

  • You will attend monthly Consultant meetings and receive 1:1 clinical supervision.
  • Bespoke induction, including our Introducing Health in Justice training course.
  • Access to a competency framework.

Candidates must have the legal right to work in the UK. Due to the role's nature, employment offers are subject to additional vetting and security checks.

What you'll be doing:

As a Consultant Psychiatrist, your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing excellent clinical care, assessment, and treatment to patients on your caseload onsite.
  • Participating in the strategic direction of the mental health service, leading senior mental health clinicians on service developments, and providing clinical supervision.
  • Reviewing referrals, determining appropriate treatment plans, conducting risk assessments, and engaging in complex case reviews with the multidisciplinary team.

If you're interested in career development, we offer various opportunities to enhance your skills and experience, including both internal and external training options. We also encourage developing specialist knowledge in neurodiversity.

Additionally, we offer:

  • Support for your ongoing professional development.
  • 24/7 employee assistance helpline and financial support when needed.

What we’ll look for in you:

We are the UK’s leading independent provider of NHS services in secure environments, serving over 40,000 patients, always prioritizing their needs regardless of background.

Our purpose is to unlock your best work life, guided by our core values:

  • Treat patients and colleagues with respect.

  • Embrace diversity.
  • Strive for continuous improvement together.

We seek caring, compassionate, and driven professionals to help us achieve fair and inclusive healthcare access for all.

Qualifications required:

  • Current GMC registration.
  • Specialist registration in General Adult or Forensic Psychiatry, approved under section 12(2) of the MHS 1983.
  • Understanding of multidisciplinary and multi-agency working complexities.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of adult psychiatry, mental health service policies, and legislation.

Working in secure environments is challenging but rewarding. If you want to develop your healthcare skills and learn something new daily in a dynamic environment, this role could be ideal for you.
