Managerially Responsible to: Hospital Manager
We are seeking an experienced full-time Consultant Psychiatrist who will work at Cygnet Kenney House and provide senior medical cover on Billington Ward, our new 12 bed female PICU service.
The post holder will be the Responsible Clinician and will oversee and maintain the care of all ward inpatients as required and will also have responsibility for auditing the medical services rendered at the ward and ensuring their good quality in accordance to GMC standards of good medical practice and other relevant professional guidelines.
Cygnet Kenney House is our brand new hospital due to open in April 2025.
Kenney House is going to be a 40 bedded unit in Oldham, primarily we are opening 2 of the 3 wards - the PICU and the Acute services, the 3rd will open later - Rehab Services. All 3 wards will be for Adult females. The service is being designed in line with the Standards of excellence set out by the Royal College of Psychiatry and we will be striving for accreditation through their review process.
Billington Ward, our new 12 bed female PICU, will accept emergency and crisis admissions. Referrals will come to us from all areas, including acute services.
In this role, your expertise will be the driving force for life-changing treatment fully supported by a Specialty Doctor and first-class multidisciplinary team including qualified nurses, psychologists, and occupational therapists.
And you'll have the opportunity to progress to Medical Director Level through our management schemes.
