Job description

We are seeking an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join a dedicated team in Hertfordshire. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in in-patient psychiatric care, including experience in Psychiatric Intensive Care Units (PICU) and Acute Services.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1. Providing expert psychiatric assessments and treatment plans for in-patient populations.
2. Managing and overseeing psychiatric care in both PICU and Acute Services settings.
3. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
4. Conducting regular reviews and adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
5. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records.
6. Engaging in clinical supervision and contributing to service development initiatives.

Requirements:

1. Approved Clinician status.
2. Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych).
3. Current registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).
4. A minimum of five years’ experience working in an in-patient psychiatric setting.
5. Demonstrated experience working in a Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).
6. Proven experience in Acute Services, with the ability to work effectively with both male and female patients.
