An exciting opportunity for two physicians to join the Acute Medicine and Diabetes and Endocrinology teams at a leading health board. The roles involve outpatient specialty clinics and acute medical responsibilities, providing a chance to work within a collaborative environment dedicated to high-quality patient care.
This is an exciting opportunity for two physicians to join the Acute Medicine and the Diabetes and Endocrinology teams working across the secondary care sites within the Aneurin Bevan University Heath Board (ABUHB).The consultant posts will be split to support acute medicine at The Grange University Hospital (GUH) in Cwmbran, NHH and RGH.
The Diabetes and Endocrinology commitment is outpatient specialty clinics one LGH sites and community hospitals. The post holders will share a commitment to the Diabetes Inpatient Care and Education rota at GUH 1 week in 10. This will replace the specialty diabetes and endocrinology clinic sessions for that week.
There is a strong record of hybrid acute medicine and specialty roles within the health board, with many Acute Physicians having shared jobs plans within Cardiology, Respiratory, Renal, Care of the Elderly, Palliative Care and ICU. The specialty clinics in Diabetes and Endocrinology are replacing consultants that have retired. To rationalise commitments, they will broadly be defined as North (NHH, YAB, GUH) and South (RGH and GUH).
You will be joining an established team of 8 Consultants in Diabetes and Endocrinology and 2 speciality doctors.
