Job summary

NHS Hywel Dda University Health Board is inviting applications for a Consultant Paediatrician with a specialist interest in respiratory to join the Acute Paediatric Team in Carmarthen. The role focuses on high-quality inpatient and outpatient paediatric respiratory care and teaching.

You will contribute to teaching, training and service development, with opportunities for research and audits, while supporting regional respiratory initiatives.

Qualifications

• Full GMC registration and Licence to Practice.
• On the GMC Specialist Register (including via Portfolio Pathway CESR) or will have CCT within six months of interview date.
• Sub-specialty training should be to level appropriate for UK consultant sub-specialist practice.
• MRCPCH by examination or equivalent.
• APLS and NLS valid.
• Additional Higher qualification(s).

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate comprehensive paediatric respiratory services for Children and Young People.
• Lead and support research activity within the Acute Paediatric service.
• Develop the respiratory services through collaboration with other providers and agencies.
• Provide professional leadership for Acute Paediatric teams.
• Work with colleagues to maintain productivity and staff job satisfaction.
